Helen Mirren was born on July 26, 1945. She is an English actress who has won an Academy Award for Best Actress. In addition, she also received three Golden Globes, four Emmy Awards, and two Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Awards. She became very famous for her appearances on ‘Shadowboxer,’ ‘Caligula,’ ‘Prime Suspect,’ ‘Elizabeth I’ and ‘The Queen.’ Helen’s other notable works include Cal, The Cook, the Thief, The Last Station, Hitchcock and The Hundred-Foot Journey.

Helen Mirren was born in Queen Charlotte’s Hospital in West London. She belongs to Russian and English descent. She has a sister Katherine and brother Peter. In 1997, she got married with Taylor Hackford, Film Director and lived in Los Angeles since 1986. She had the lead role in a school production of Hansel and Gretel when she was studying in Hamlet Court primary school, and St Bernard's High School for Girls, where she also acted in school productions.

She started her career as an actress and acted large number of films throughout her career. The Age of Consent, Excalibur 2010, The Long Good Friday, White Nights, Midsummer Night's Dream are some of the early film appearances. Some of her other film roles are Peter Greenaway's The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, as the thief's wife, opposite Michael Gambon. She also  played a role of sadistic history teacher as Mrs Eve TingleIn in the film "Teaching Mrs. Tingle".
